This boot is made by Caterpillar, a company known for manufacturing high quality heavy equipment. So I thought since Caterpillar put its name on boots they would be high quality and durable like its heavy machinery. The boots look nice and comfortable but the sole feels like its only about a quarter inch thick and very flexible. You could feel every rock and pebble you walk on. As a casual shoe its ok but as a work boot, hiking, or motorcycle boot not a good choice.

However, the boot is extremely comfortable; I even wore them with low-rise socks (ankle socks?) and found it to not be bothersome at all. It's very well padded and ventilated, and feels almost exactly like an athletic shoe. It's not nearly as heavy (although it doesn't have steel toes or shanks) as a typical boot. Grip is great on almost every surface unless you're on waxed tile with wet shoes.
Comfortable, relatively lightweight, fashionable (for a CAT boot), and well priced.

I was looking for a boot that was rugged yet also practical and comfortable. The Caterpillar Akon Lace-Up Boot is it! I will definitely be ordering another pair soon just to have for future use. These boots are comfortable for all day wear. Just like the item description says, they are also not excessively bulky so you can run in them should you need to.
