Love this boot, March 23, 2012 By This review is from: Converse Men's 8" Side Zip Composite Toe Stealth Boot (Apparel) I play and referee paintball, hike/hunt/camp, and work in these boots. I probably spend about two-third of the year in boots. I have tested and punished these boots through rain, mud, snow, and rocky terrain, and they've always performed well. They're very lightweight (when compared to other 8" boots). Although they're not a "winter" boot, I wear them in Michigan winters without a problem. In extreme cold, deep snow, or wet conditions, I simply wear ragwool or neoprene socks with them. The sidezip feature has been excellent for quick on-off. These boots have required minimal breaking-in (nothing should require "breaking in", except baseball mitts & rodeo horses). Prior to buying/wearing these, I had used several other brands and types, the most recent being tha Altama ripple sole. While I have no real complaint about the Altama product, these just worked better for me. Ripple soles are great for most outdoors activities, especially running uphill (but was detrimental going... They are great boots. I was looking for a double wide boot for by wide feet. These come in a ton of sizes. Fast to get on in the am and feel like a sneaker all day. Well, a sneaker with toe safety and extra ankle support. Probably the best boot I've owned... and I was in the Marine Corps... so I've seen my share of boots.

so much comfort, February 27, 2007 By This review is from: Converse Men's 8" Side Zip Composite Toe Stealth Boot (Apparel) my husband is in iraq and i got these for him he loves them and says it makes life easier on him for his feet to be comfortable since he is on them 90% of the time.
